The
native people of the American Continent were undoubtedly the first
to grow and smoke the tobacco plant. Tobacco didn't come to the attention
of the rest of the world until Christopher Columbus's momentous voyage
of 1492. Sir Walter Raleigh was responsible for introducing tobacco
and the fashion of smoking to the new world. Soon Tobacco smoking
became a sign of wealth, power, and pleasure.
The first
tobacco plantations were set up in the Carolina's in 1612. The traditions
and quality products produced then still continue today. The Carolina's
long history of tobacco growing combined with today's modern technology
provide the distinctive taste that the Carolina Cigar provides.
